Ever heard this from your CEO?
"I'd love to post more on LinkedIn, but I just don't have the time."
Here’s a simple 4-step content assembly line to help your CEO or leader create consistent, high-quality LinkedIn posts in just a few hours a week.
Devin Reed, founder of The Reeder and known for his success at Gong & Clari, has honed this process to build content processes that scale brands and build pipelines.
Here’s how he does it:
Step 1: The Tuesday Brain Dump
Time commitment: 20 minutes
On Tuesdays, schedule a quick Zoom call (or ask for a voice note). Your goal? Pull out fresh ideas:
- What surprised them this week?
- Any big wins or lessons learned?
- What's frustrating or exciting in their world right now?
Keep it casual—no prep required. Just capture their thoughts verbatim. Even a messy brain dump is better than silence.
Steer the conversation toward your content pillars. If you know your CEO wants to own "revenue strategy," guide the discussion there.
Step 2: Drafting on Wednesday
Time commitment: ~45 minutes (for you)
Take the raw insights from Tuesday and craft the first draft.
- Focus on their tone. Keep it conversational but professional.
- Use bullet points or short paragraphs—they perform better on LinkedIn.
- Add a clear takeaway: Why should readers care?
When you're done, share the draft in a Google Doc or Slack for review. Let them know the exact deadline (end of day Thursday) for edits.
Step 3: Thursday Edits and Final Touches
Time commitment: 10-15 minutes (for them)
This is their moment to shine—or nitpick. Encourage tweaks that reflect their voice but gently remind them not to overthink. It’s LinkedIn, not the New Yorker.
Your role here:
- Be available for quick clarifications.
- Make sure the post still ties to their "one word" or core themes.
Step 4: Publish and Repeat
Time commitment: 5 minutes (for them or you)
By Friday, the post is ready to go. Depending on their preference, either you can publish it directly or hand over the reins.
Rinse and repeat weekly, and in no time, you’ll start seeing the compounding effects of posting consistently.
Why this works
This process removes friction, keeps things lightweight, and ensures a steady stream of thought leadership content without overwhelming anyone.
The result? Posts that feel authentic, align with your brand, and keep your CEO in the conversation.
